Half-Time Report: Ben Reeves strikes twice to level

Wigan Athletic are shocked by two late first-half goals by Ben Reeves as they go into the break of their FA Cup third-round clash with MK Dons with the score at 2-2.

Two late goals from Ben Reeves have seen MK Dons go into the break with FA Cup holders Wigan Athletic with the score level at 2-2.

Wigan dominated the opening proceedings as James McClean flashed an effort wide in the sixth minute and James McArthur saw his shot fly over the bar just a minute later.

MK Dons forged a couple of chances for themselves, though, as Samir Carruthers and Ben Reeves went close, but Wigan soon took the lead.

In the 18th minute, Roger Espinoza took one touch out of his feet before firing a powerful shot into the top corner to give the FA Cup holders a 1-0 advantage.

Nine minutes later, Jordi Gomez made it 2-0 when he danced his way into the box and beat David Martin at his near post with a low drive.

With Wigan looking good value for their two-goal lead, Reeves reduced the deficit on the stroke of half time with a left-footed effort and then drew his side level 60 seconds later when he converted from Patrick Bamford's pull-back from the byline.
