League One roundup: Wolverhampton Wanderers suffer home defeat

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from League One on Saturday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have suffered only their second home defeat in League One this season, as they went down 2-0 to MK Dons at Molineux.

Patrick Bamford converted Samir Carruthers's pass just past the half-hour mark and Ben Reeves shot home from outside side the box five minutes into second half.

The defeat leaves Wolves in second place in the table, a point behind leaders Leyton Orient, who conceded a late equaliser at Bradford City.

Lloyd James curled home his shot from outside the box for Orient on the stroke of half time, but Nahki Wells scored in injury time with a free kick to earn hosts Bradford a 1-1 draw.

Brentford are third in the standings as they won on Mark Warburton's debut as manager of the team against Oldham Athletic.

Jonathan Douglas headed home Sam Saunders's cross in the 92nd minute to earn a 1-0 victory for his side at Griffin Park.

The Bees are now three points behind Wolves in third and two ahead of fourth-placed Preston North End, who managed a 2-2 away draw with Crawley Town on Saturday.

Peterborough United and Rotherham United occupy the final two playoff spots; while the former drew 2-2 at Gillingham, the latter edged past Bristol City 2-1 away from home.

At the other end of the table, Sheffield United continued their revival under manager Nigel Clough with a 1-0 victory over Swindon Town at Bramall Lane, Jose Baxter with the decisive goal midway through the second half.

The Blades are now two points and two places clear of the relegation zone in 19th, with Stevenage, Notts County, Crewe Alexandra and Bristol City making up the bottom four.
