West Ham United are reportedly unlikely to complete a deal for Brentford winger Said Benrahma.
In recent days, it has been suggested that the Hammers have held positive discussions with the Championship side and the Algerian international.
The East Londoners are allegedly prepared to spend in the region of £25m on the playmaker, who starred in the second tier last season.
According to The Mirror, the deal is now close to being scrapped, despite Benrahma informing club officials that he wants to make the switch across England's capital.
While Crystal Palace could now make a fresh attempt to sign the 25-year-old, West Ham may instead prioritise the transfer of Bournemouth forward Josh King.
The deadline for making domestic signings is 5pm on Friday.
