Clement Grenier has reportedly informed West Ham United that he is willing to join from Lyon this month after the Premier League side made contact with his camp.
Les Gones are understood to want the attacking midfielder off their books as his contract has just five months left to run, meaning that he can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club.
Rather than lose him for free in the summer, Lyon would prefer to gather a fee for the 27-year-old and West Ham have so far shown the most interest.
A move now appears to be closer to completion, as French radio station RMC quotes a source close to the Frenchman as saying: "There are 10 days until the end of the transfer window and everything remains possible on the indicated destinations."
Inter Milan are also rumoured to be weighing up a late move for the five-cap France international.
