West Ham United won their first home Premier League match of the season by beating Newcastle United 2-0 this evening.
Dimitri Payet gave the Hammers the lead in the ninth minute when he curled an effort from the edge of the box into the top corner.
The Frenchman doubled their tally three minutes into the second half with a close-range finish, after a shot from Victor Moses had crashed against the bar.

Darren Randolph: Solid performance from the keeper, who was not forced into many saves, but had to be alert to keep out strikes from Janmaat and De Jong. (7/10)

James Tomkins: Reliable performance from the defender who never put a foot wrong all evening and kept Cisse quiet. (7/10)
Winston Reid: Was rarely troubled by the Newcastle attack and dealt well with everything that came his way. (6/10)
Angelo Ogbonna: Had a decent game for the Hammers before he had to be replaced by Jenkinson after picking up an injury just before the break. (6/10)

Cheikhou Kouyate: Tireless performance from the Senegal international who made a number of vital tackles and never shied away from any challenges. (7/10)
Mark Noble: Set up the opening goal for Payet and was busy in the midfield throughout on his first official game as West Ham captain. (7/10)
Manuel Lanzini: Struggled to make an impact following his goal at Anfield last time out and was replaced early in the second half by Obiang. (6/10)

Victor Moses: Lively performance from the on-loan Chelsea winger. His powerful run led to West Ham's second goal of the match, while he always looked a threat on the break. (8/10)

Chancel Mbemba: Struggled to deal with the pace of the Newcastle attack and was caught out badly for both of the goals. (5/10)
Massadio Haidara: Saw plenty of the ball in the opposition half, but could not deliver any telling crosses and was beaten for pace by Moses for the second goal of the evening. (5/10)
