Sam Allardyce: West Ham United had a "bit of luck" against Burnley

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce admits that his side had "a bit of luck" in their 1-0 win over Burnley.

Sam Allardyce has admitted that West Ham United had "a bit of luck" in their 1-0 win over Burnley at Upton Park this afternoon.

The home side's only goal of the afternoon came from the penalty spot after Michael Duff was sent off for tripping Cheikhou Kouyate midway through the first half.

The Hammers manager told BBC Sport: "It should have been a lot easier and it would have been had we converted our chances. We had the chances to win two games and couldn't get that comfort zone. One slip can prove costly, but thankfully the lads did the job.

"I think we had a bit of luck on the sending off. Mark Noble never practices penalties. He says, 'don't worry I'll be fine gaffer'. The thing today was about winning and we've done that."

The result leaves West Ham ninth in the Premier League table with three games remaining this season.
