Sam Allardyce hails "unstoppable" Andy Carroll

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce says that Andy Carroll's two-goal salvo in the 3-1 win over Swansea City was a "massive" moment for the striker.

Sam Allardyce has described Andy Carroll as being "unstoppable" after the striker helped West Ham United to a 3-1 victory over Swansea City this afternoon.

The Hammers needed to battle back from a goal behind at Upton Park following Wilfried Bony's strike on 19 minutes, with Carroll's first Premier League goals in eight months either side of half time enough to turn the game in the home side's favour.

Diafra Sakho made sure of the points late on against the Swans - who had Lukasz Fabianski sent off in the second period - to help lift his side up to third place in the table.

Asked about the performance of Carroll after the game, Allardyce told Sky Sports News: "It's massive for Andy Carroll. Movement in the box is what it is all about, the heading in the box only comes after the movement is right and that happened with his two goals.

"He is unstoppable when he gets that space. Hopefully he continues to learn that way. We are very dangerous on set pieces, and with players in wide areas we cause defenders huge problems."

West Ham return to action next weekend when they travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland.
