West Brom manager Steve Clarke insists that Shane Long is not for sale in January.

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has insisted that Shane Long will not be sold in January.

The striker has earned plenty of praise this season for his part in the Baggies' climb up to fourth place in the Premier League table.

"Clubs can want to buy Shane, they can come if they want - and the answer is 'no'," said Clarke.

"I am not going to hype up other clubs and who they should be bidding for. But Shane is our player and he's not going anywhere.

"At the moment he is in a great vein of form. I've run out of superlatives to say about Shane."

Long has scored six goals in 14 appearances for West Brom so far this season.
