Darren Fletcher confident of West Bromwich Albion survival

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Darren Fletcher believes that the team's strong work ethic will be key to securing Premier League survival.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Darren Fletcher has stressed that the team's strong work ethic will be key if they are to remain in the Premier League.

The Baggies appointed Tony Pulis as manager in January in a bid to survive the drop, and the former Stoke City boss has since taken them five points clear of the bottom three.

Fletcher, who moved to the Hawthorns from Manchester United on transfer deadline day, insists that there is no secret formula to Pulis's impact.

"We work hard every day and we have a lot of good people in the dressing room," the Scotland international told the Express & Star.

"The combination of working hard, listening to what the manager wants and expects, having a real appetite, a workrate and good people around the place all factor in.

"We want to win every game. We've got a difficult run-in, but if it comes to it we're more than capable of picking up points in those games as well. Like everyone else, we want to get the points on the board as quickly as possible."

West Brom host Southampton on Saturday.
