West Bromwich Albion's Salomon Rondon: 'We should have beaten West Ham United'

West Bromwich Albion forward Salomon Rondon believes that his team should have taken all three points from their clash against West Ham United at Upton Park.

West Bromwich Albion forward Salomon Rondon has claimed that his side should have beaten West Ham United in their Premier League match at Upton Park.

The Hammers took the lead in the first half through Mauro Zarate, but Tony Pulis's men responded after the break when Rickie Lambert's strike deflected off Winston Reid and into the net.

Rondon was presented with the chance to put the Baggies ahead when he latched on to Darren Fletcher's cross, but he could only head his effort wide of the post, leaving the forward frustrated as his team were forced to take a point from the fixture.

He told the club's official website: "We could have won the game in the second half but the draw is still a good result for us. I had a couple of chances and I think the keeper made a very good save from my header.

"I was really disappointed not to score. West Ham were a very good side and they worried us. We didn't do very well in the first half but we changed it in the second half.

"Rickie Lambert entered the pitch and the game was different. I would have preferred to leave the stadium with three points but the game was very difficult. The point is very important for us and we now look ahead to Tottenham."

West Brom are 13th in the Premier League after 14 matches this season.
