West Bromwich Albion have reportedly edged a step closer to securing the services of Sebastian Blanco in a £2m deal.
The Metalist Kharkiv winger has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Ukraine in recent weeks, and will arrive in England on Friday for a medical with the Baggies, according to Sky Sports News.
Despite refusing to mention Blanco by name on Thursday, Alan Irvine appeared to suggest that the deal was almost completed with just a few days remaining in the transfer window.
"We're hoping to bring in one more, and I'm hoping that doesn't have to last as long as Monday," the West Brom manager told reporters. "We're not looking to move anyone out, and if we can get this last player in I will be very happy."
Blanco, who was linked with Aston Villa earlier this summer, has won two caps for Argentina.
