Tony Pulis: 'West Bromwich Albion need four or five new players'

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis is frustrated with the lack of players signed by the club this summer and is pining for four or five new signings.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has expressed his frustration with the lack of players signed by the club this summer.

Jay Rodriguez and Ahmed Hegazi are the club's only two available signings for the forthcoming season, with China international Zhang Yuning signed and immediately loaned out to Werder Bremen.

Ben Gibson and Kieran Gibbs were reported to be on the Baggies' radar, but neither has been successfully recruited by the West Midlanders.

"I was hoping we'd get a few over the line by now but it hasn't happened," Pulis told the Birmingham Mail. "We have to be patient because we want to get players in that will hopefully improve the team.

"We need to bring about four or five players in. We do and that's very important. Everybody is waiting for it, it's not just the supporters, the manager, everybody. Our own players as well.

"They're all waiting for new faces to come in and strengthen what is a small squad. We're trying to get players in and that's what we've got to do. We've got to get some deals over the line."

West Brom finished last season 10th in the Premier League table.
