Half-Time Report: Arouna Kone cancels out Shane Long opener

Arouna Kone cancels out Shane Long's opener as Wigan and West Brom enter half time level.

Arouna Kone's 13th goal of the season cancelled out Shane Long's opener for West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.

Wigan Athletic dominated the opening proceedings, and Ben Watson - making his first appearance for the Latics since November - was at the centre of much of the visitors' play.

It was the home side who opened the scoring on the half-hour mark, after good work between West Brom's forwards. Romelu Lukaku played a ball into the right-hand channel for Markus Rosenberg, squaring the ball for Shane Long, who slid in to knock the ball home.

Five minutes before half time, Wigan Athletic equalised after a swift breakaway. The ball was fed to Jean Beausejour, whose cross was met by Arouna Kone, who headed in his 13th goal of the season.
