Midfielder Aaron Hunt has refused to rule out leaving Werder Bremen when his contract expires in June 2014.
The 26-year-old began his senior career at the Weserstadion, but he is believed to be considering his future at the club following a third consecutive season in mid-table.
He said: "I have always stressed that I am happy with Werder and the club has a place in my heart, but it's not certain that I will stay here and end my career here.
"I have certain expectations and my future will be dependent on them."
Hunt, who has an English mother, has been capped twice by Germany at senior international level.
