Watford are interested in signing Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida in January, according to a report.
The Hornets have conceded 35 goals so far this season, with only two teams in the Premier League having worse defensive records at this point.
According to Fanatik, Watford are now looking at Vida as a potential signing next month to bolster their defensive options, with Besiktas wanting over £1m for him.
Vida's contract with the Turkish outfit expires at the end of the season, but the club are open to letting him leave in order to free up more cash due to his wages.
However, the Hornets are hoping to sign him for free in January.
The Croatian has made 151 appearances for the Black Eagles during his time with the club, while he also has 95 international caps to his name.
Watford have not kept a clean sheet since their EFL Cup second round victory against Crystal Palace, which took place in August, and they will be back in action on New Year's Day against Tottenham Hotspur.
