Report: Younes Kaboul close to Watford move

A report claims that Sunderland's experienced French defender Younes Kaboul is close to joining Watford.

Sunderland centre-back Younes Kaboul is reportedly close to joining Premier League rivals Watford.

The Frenchman was part of the Sunderland team that narrowly lost 2-1 at Manchester City on Saturday, but it is understood that he has been made available for transfer this month.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Watford have won the race to sign the 30-year-old, who made 23 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats last season after joining from Tottenham Hotspur.

Watford, now under the management of Walter Mazzarri, are said to be confident of having the defender on board for their league clash with Chelsea on Saturday.
