Bristol City continued their six-match unbeaten run after securing a point in a 2-2 draw with Watford on Tuesday evening.
After a fairly tense opening period, Watford broke the deadlock after 25 minutes courtesy of Carl Dickinson, who found the top corner from outside the box.
Watford continued to pressurise the Bristol City defence and the second came courtesy of a Craig Beattie header after 42 minutes.
The goal seemed to galvanise the away side, who quickly cut the deficit to 2-1 when Marvin Elliot headed home after 44 minutes.
Bristol City equalised just 24 seconds into the second half when Adrian Mariappa put the ball into his own net from close range. It was the away side who pushed hardest for the winner, with Albert Adomah twice going close after 70 minutes but to no avail.
Bristol City will aim to continue their unbeaten record against Middlesbrough on Saturday, while Watford travel to Ipswich.
