Ashley Williams anticipates "great battle" with Croatia

Wales skipper Ashley Williams believes that tonight's match against Croatia at the Liberty Stadium will be a great spectacle, thanks to the battle between Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.

Wales captain Ashley Williams believes that tonight's clash with Croatia will provide a chance for fans to watch two of the world's top players battle it out.

Gareth Bale will come up against Real Madrid playmaker Luka Modric as both sides look for three points in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Chris Coleman's side must win to keep alive faint hopes of reaching Brazil next summer, with Williams insisting that Wales are strong enough all over the pitch to shock Croatia.

He told The Mirror: "Both teams have an exceptional player, them in Modric and us in Bale. For a fan watching the game, I am sure it will be a great battle. Two world-class players on the pitch should make for something good.

"I thought Modric did well when he came on for Real at United. And when we played Croatia over there, Modric was unbelievable. It was probably one of the best individual performances I have played against. I don't think he gave one ball away, he controlled the whole game.

"Anyone who knows us knows we have good players all over the team. If anyone takes the time to look at the team they will see we have a lot of good players and a lot of weapons attacking-wise. We know we are not a one-man team."

Wales are searching for a second win in four days after beating Scotland 2-1 at Hampden Park last Friday.
