Wales rise to highest-ever FIFA world ranking by securing top-10 place

Wales rise to their highest place in the FIFA rankings as they move up to 10th following their win over Belgium in a Euro 2016 qualifier last month.

Wales have risen to their highest-ever world ranking after being placed as the 10th best international side by FIFA.

Chris Coleman's side's win over Belgium in their latest Euro 2016 qualifying match has seen them shift into the top 10, just one place below England in the rankings.

The rise means that Wales will now be seeded for the World Cup qualifiers draw, which takes place later this month.

Meanwhile, Argentina have ousted Germany from the top spot in the rankings, despite their defeat in last year's World Cup final to Die Mannschaft and their loss to Chile in the Copa America final on penalties.
