Chris Gunter believes that a Welsh victory against Costa Rica will be a fitting tribute to the late Gary Speed.

Wales and Nottingham Forest defender Chris Gunter believes that the national side's friendly against Costa Rica will be "extremely emotional".

The two teams come together tomorrow to commemorate former Wales coach Gary Speed, who died in November by appearing to take his own life.

"It's going to be a really big event in Wales," Gunter told Sky Sports News.

"It will be extremely emotional because all the focus will be on Gary Speed and what he has done for us as a team in the time he was our manager was massive and I don't think you can ever overlook how much he done for us in such a short space of time.

"Hopefully we can get a really good result in the game as I am sure that is what he would want."

The match will be the first time that the Wales squad play under new manager Chris Coleman.
