Chris Coleman: 'I will leave Wales after World Cup campaign'

Wales boss Chris Coleman says that he does not plan on remaining with the national team for the next European Championship in 2020.

Wales boss Chris Coleman has suggested that he plans to return to club football within the next two years.

Coleman guided Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 before they were defeated by Portugal on Wednesday night, and hopes of an appearance at their first World Cup since 1958 are at an all-time high as they begin to look towards the start of their qualifying campaign.

However, Coleman has hinted that he intends to end his time with the Dragons, regardless of whether they are successful in their quest to reach the tournament in Russia in 2018.

The 46-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I am sure this will be my last campaign, whether we qualify or not.

"That will be six years in the job, which is a long time. This will be my last hit at it, so I will give it my best shot.

"But I would not consider going anywhere else. I want to see this through. There's loads of work to be done with this team. I'll give everything I've got in this next campaign."

Wales start their qualifying campaign with a home fixture against Moldova.
