Alessandro del Piero is determined to reach his top form for Sydney FC in the coming weeks.

Italian legend Alessandro del Piero has said that he is gradually coming to grips with football in Australia's A-League.

The 37-year-old join Sydney FC on a two-year deal last month after his contract with Juventus ran out in the summer.

"I'm not 100% [fit] definitely," he said. "But I'm feeling good because I'm training every day and this is important.

"After five weeks, I think I'm happy to be in this condition and hope to do my best in two or three weeks.

"I have to do my best [against the physical nature of the Australian game]. I'm not big so I have to do something else, but I have time in training to understand what is best for the team."

Sydney will take on Perth Glory at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday.
