Garry Monk unsure over Jonathan de Guzman future

Swansea City boss Garry Monk admits that he does not know if Jonathan de Guzman will return to the club this season.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has admitted that the club are no closer to agreeing a deal to bring Jonathan de Guzman back to the Liberty Stadium.

The Villarreal midfielder has spent the last two seasons on loan with the Swans, making 93 appearances in all competitions.

Monk has said that he is unsure if the Netherlands international will return.

"I haven't spoken to him," Monk told the South Wales Evening Post. "I know the club have made contact with his agent. They have had discussions and got his views but that's as far as it has gone."

Swansea have signed Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lukasz Fabianski, Bafetimbi Gomis, Marvin Emnes, Stephen Kingsley and Jefferson Montero this summer.
