Young Barnsley centre-back Alfie Mawson will reportedly undergo a medical at Swansea City on Tuesday ahead of his £5m move to the Premier League side.
According to Sky Sports News, the 22-year-old has "almost agreed personal terms" with the Welsh side and the deal will be wrapped up comfortably before Wednesday's 11pm transfer deadline.
Mawson only joined Barnsley from Brentford last summer and was an ever-present as the Tykes secured promotion back to the Championship, contributing six goals from the backline.
A number of clubs had expressed interest in signing Mawson this summer, including David Moyes's Sunderland and Barnsley's Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mawson will become Swans boss Francesco Guidolin's sixth signing of the summer, joining the likes of Leroy Fer, Fernando Llorente and Borja Baston at the Liberty.
