Preview: Swansea City vs. Norwich City

Sports Mole previews the Premier League clash between Swansea City and Norwich City at the Liberty Stadium, where the hosts will try to end a nine-match winless run.

Swansea City will be desperate to end a run of nine winless games in all competitions when they host Norwich City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Since a South Wales derby triumph in his opening match in charge, the Swans have failed to collect maximum points under interim manager Garry Monk.

A 2-2 draw at Arsenal in midweek will be considered a positive result, but it is victories that the club need to move clear of the relegation zone, which is looming only three places and five points below them.

A home game against a Norwich side that have conceded 17 goals in the process of losing their last six away outings could be the perfect opportunity for Swansea to get back to winning ways.

It is the Canaries' form on their own patch which is currently keeping them afloat, and the 2-0 success over Sunderland last weekend stretched their unbeaten run at Carrow Road to six games.

It also lifted them seven points away from the bottom three, and Chris Hughton could name nearly the same side this Saturday, although Johan Elmander or Ricky van Wolfswinkel is likely to make way for an extra midfielder, possibly Bradley Johnson, should Norwich revert to a a 4-5-1 formation.

Leroy Fer and Michael Turner remain sidelined for Norwich, as does Elliott Bennett, although the winger is believed to be close to a return after suffering a cruciate knee-ligament injury in August.

Swansea welcomed back Michu to their starting XI on Tuesday, following his three month spell out with an ankle problem. He should feature from the off again after lasting 60 minutes at the Emirates Stadium.

Nathan Dyer could be recalled, with Jonathan de Guzman shifted into a central position at the expense of fitness doubt Jonjo Shelvey. Left-back Neil Taylor may again keep Ben Davies out of the team.
