Swansea City's Neil Taylor: 'We have to end the season strongly'

Swansea City defender Neil Taylor is adamant that his side have to seize the initiative to end the season strongly to break the club's points record in the Premier League.

Swansea City defender Neil Taylor has insisted that his side have to finish their season on a high note by breaking the club's points record in the Premier League.

The Swans have enjoyed an excellent campaign under Garry Monk as they sit eighth in the table, and also need to take just five further points from their eight remaining games to surpass their best tally since joining the top flight in the 2011-12 season.

"It's been a great season so far," Taylor told the club's official website. "The important thing is that we don't taper off like in previous seasons.

"We have a chance to set a new points record for the club in the Premier League, and that is a big incentive for everyone. We would be immensely proud to set a new points record, and that's the aim for all of us going into the remaining eight games.

"We should beat it, and with two consecutive home games to come it would be a nice moment if we could set the record at the Liberty in front of our own fans."

Swansea face off against Hull City in their Premier League clash at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
