Garry Monk: 'Bournemouth draw a point earned'

Swansea City manager Garry Monk believes that his side deserved a point after coming from behind to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk praised the character of his team after they came from behind to draw 2-2 at home against Bournemouth.

The away side led by two goals after just 26 minutes but the Swans pulled level with two strikes of their own before half time, and Monk believes that he needs to help his side rediscover their confidence on the ball.

The 36-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I think considering that we went two goals down, it is a massive credit to the players to come back from that, especially with the situation that they have been in.

"There was some great character and great heart today in terms of turning it around so quickly as well but obviously from 2-0 down it is a point earned.

"I think probably what at this moment in time, we just felt there was that bit of tension in the players with the ball and that is what we need to do, we need to bring the players back with that confidence.

"They are good players and they can play very well and very sharp but just that bit of tension I think affected us a little today."

The result saw Swansea drop to 14th in the Premier League table and leave them five points clear of the relegation zone.
