Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has declared that the sparkling form of Wayne Routledge has been a pleasant surprise so far this season.
The 27-year-old has played in every Premier League game for Swansea this term, scoring twice and impressing in an advanced wide position.
Laudrup believes that a sustained run in the Swansea first team has helped Routledge reach his potential.
He told Wales Online: "Wayne has not been a regular starter for a long time, he is now and that's important.
"I heard when I arrived here that he only scored one goal in 100 games, and he has already scored double that this season.
"Maybe he has been a big surprise for those watching on, but we are giving him confidence and we know he has a lot of quality."
The Swans secured their first league win since August last weekend with a 2-1 success over Wigan Athletic.
