Michael Laudrup frustrated by disallowed goal

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup says that Alvaro Vazquez's disallowed goal against Valencia should have stood.

Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup has expressed his frustration at Alvaro Vazquez's disallowed goal in last night's Europa League clash with Valencia.

The Spanish side confirmed their place in the knockout stages of the competition thanks to Daniel Parejo's 20th-minute strike at the Liberty Stadium.

Vezques thought that he had levelled just before the break after Diego Alves palmed Jonjo Shelvey's shot into his path, but the linesman quickly raised his flag for offside.

After the game, the Dane conceded that Los Che were the better team in the first half, although he was happy with how his the Swans responded.

"I think that it was one half each," he told reporters. "Valencia were the better team in the first half. They dominated the midfield. Not that they created many chances, but they did dominate the first half.

"We had a disallowed goal, which I think we all saw that, unfortunately for us, was given offside when he was at least a yard on.

"In the second half, we made a change to add an extra midfielder, which helped a lot. I think we took over in the second half. We had three or four chances – one saved on the line and a couple of others went very close."

The Welsh team will make the trip to St Gallen for their final game of the group stages needing just a point to guarantee their passage into the last 32.
