Leroy Fer fails Sunderland medical?

Leroy Fer reportedly heads back to Queens Park Rangers following a failed medical with Sunderland.

Leroy Fer's proposed loan switch to Sunderland has reportedly fallen through.

Recent speculation claimed that the Queens Park Rangers midfielder had travelled to Wearside for a series of fitness checks ahead of his move to the Stadium of Light.

However, according to the Sunderland Echo, the 25-year-old has failed a medical and will now return to QPR.

Back in 2013, Fer was close to swapping FC Twente for Everton, but that transfer was also cancelled due to concerns over the Dutch international's fitness.
