Sunderland have reportedly made an enquiry for Queens Park Rangers attacking midfielder Leroy Fer.
Netherlands international Fer is expected to leave the London side following their relegation to the Championship, and despite them not yet making a formal offer, Sky Sports reports that the Black Cats have been in contact.
Fer, who has previously been linked with West Ham and Sevilla, scored six goals in 31 appearances after signing for QPR at the beginning of last season from Norwich City.
Meanwhile, Sunderland are also said to be stepping up their interest in Rubin Kazan and France international midfielder Yann M'Vila.
