David Moyes in line to replace Sam Allardyce at Sunderland?

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes is reportedly the favourite to replace Sam Allardyce at Sunderland.

David Moyes is reportedly in "advanced talks" to take over from Sam Allardyce as Sunderland manager.

Allardyce is expected to be confirmed as England's new manager by the FA this week and, according to The Sun, Sunderland owner Ellis Short has wasted no time in hunting for a replacement.

Moyes has been out of work since being fired by La Liga side Real Sociedad last November, two years after an unsuccessful stint in the hotseat at Manchester United.

Prior to the United job, the Scot spent 11 years at Everton, where he was credited with stabilising the side in the top half of the Premier League and took them into the early stages of the Champions League in 2005.

If appointed, Moyes will become the Black Cats' fourth manager in the space of 17 months.
