Stranraer record comfortable win in nine-goal thriller

Stranraer beat Ayr United 6-3 at Somerset Park in the Scottish League One this evening.

It was goals galore at Somerset Park as Stranraer beat Ayr United 6-3 in the Scottish League One on Tuesday evening.

Jamie Longworth scored a hat-trick for the visitors as Michael Moffat netted three times for his side in what was an action-packed evening North of the border.

Chris Aitken scored two penalties and David McKenna also added his name to the lengthy scoresheet.

Longworth scored his first of the evening after 11 minutes before Moffat hit
two in quick succession five minutes later.

However, Longworth struck two more before half time to give his side a 3-2 lead at the interval.

Aitken converted his first spot kick three minutes after the restart before Moffat added his third just before the hour mark to make it 4-3.

However, with the home side pushing for an equaliser, McKenna struck in the 77th minute before Aitken again scored from the spot to send the visitors home with the points after a nine-goal thriller.
