Stoke City are reportedly prepared to break their transfer record to bring West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino to the club this month.
The 22-year-old was continually linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, but the Baggies refused to part with the England Under-21 international.
Berahino has had a difficult first half of the season at The Hawthorns, with his attitude being called into question by Tony Pulis, although the West Brom boss claimed last month that his club "would love" to keep the striker in January.
According to The Telegraph, however, Stoke are preparing to turn West Brom's head with an offer, which would be in excess of the £12m that they paid Inter Milan for Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer transfer window.
Berahino has only scored three Premier League goals this season.
