Stoke City are reportedly preparing to hijack Valencia's £7m move for Fenerbahce attacker Nani.
The former Manchester United midfielder is expected to leave his Turkish club this summer and Valencia were believed to lead the race for the Portuguese international.
However, according to The Mirror, Stoke boss Mark Hughes is a firm admirer of Nani's talents and will attempt to convince the 29-year-old to return to the Premier League.
Nani has scored twice for Portugal during his country's run to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.
During a eight-year spell with Man United, the attacker won four Premier League titles and the Champions League, in addition to scoring 40 times in 230 appearances.
