Mark Hughes insists that Steven N'Zonzi is staying at Stoke City, despite the midfielder handing in a transfer request in May.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has insisted that midfielder Steven N'Zonzi will remain at the club beyond the summer, despite the player's previous intentions to leave.

The Frenchman handed in a transfer request in May, which was swiftly rejected by the Potters.

Despite N'Zonzi's initial stance, Hughes has revealed that the 24-year-old is happy to stay at the club for the 2013-14 campaign.

"He's fine now and he isn't going anywhere," The Express quotes Hughes as saying.

N'Zonzi moved to the Britannia from Blackburn Rovers last year.
