Stoke City, Genoa finishes goalless

Stoke City play out a disappointing 0-0 draw with Genoa at the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke City completed their pre-season campaign with a 0-0 draw with Serie A side Genoa.

The Potters dominated the opening 45 minutes but were frequently denied by Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

After first saving from Peter Crouch, Perin was on hand to deny Jonathan Walters and Robert Huth.

Stoke continued to have the better of proceedings after the break, with Marc Wilson drawing another stop out of Perin, before Cameron Jerome went close with a fierce effort.

Genoa nearly secured a late winner through Luca Antonelli, but neither side were able to break the deadlock before the final whistle.
