Jermaine Pennant's future at Stoke City has been thrown into doubt after the winger was reportedly disciplined twice due to off-field antics.

The former Liverpool player is believed to have been disciplined by the club on two occasions for breaching club rules, which is the reason behind Pennant's recent drop from the Potters' side, according to Sky Sports News.

It is believed that Stoke boss Tony Pulis first sanctioned Pennant before Christmas after the 29-year-old visited a nightclub in Liverpool prior to the club's 1-0 win over Everton.

The second incident is thought to have been a fortnight ago before Stoke's 2-0 win over Crawley Town in the FA Cup, in which Pennant left the team hotel to go drinking and arrived back in the early hours.

The relationship between the winger and Pulis is understood to be strained due to Pennant's behaviour, which sparks suggestions that the ex-Birmingham City player could be on his way out of the Britannia Stadium.
