West Ham United midfielder Matt Taylor has revealed that he is on the mend following the head injury that he suffered during Saturday's 1-0 win away at Stoke City.
The 31-year-old was knocked out when he was kicked in the jaw by Stoke centre-forward Peter Crouch, who had attempted an acrobatic shot at goal.
"I'm not too bad. My head is fine and I'm feeling a lot better. It's the first time I have been knocked out in my career, or in my life for that matter, that I can recall," he told the club's official website.
"If it was going to happen anywhere, then on a football pitch is not a bad place because of all the medical staff being there. It was a good place for it to happen, if it was going to happen."
Taylor will continue to be monitored ahead of the weekend's trip to Chelsea.
