Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has reportedly been told that he will not be able to make any big-money signings in the January transfer window.
Spurs were keen on Shakhtar Donetsk's Willian and Sporting Lisbon's Joao Moutinho, but the Portuguese coach has been informed that there will be minimal funds available next month, according to The People.
The north London outfit made an offer of around £20 million for Portuguese international Moutinho in the summer, but will not be making a fresh move until at least the end of the season.
It is believed that owner Joe Lewis is trying to cut costs at White Hart Lane.
