Rafael van der Vaart admits his admiration for Hamburg but denies suggestions that the Tottenham midfielder is in contact with the club.

Tottenham Hotsput midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has insisted that he has had no contact from Hamburg over a possible transfer.

The Dutch international has been linked with a switch away from White Hart Lane this summer, with reports suggesting that the 29-year-old is a top target for the German side.

"I am happy and I am surprised myself how much I still love Hamburg, currently however there is no contact," Van der Vaart told Bild.

The Dutchman, who experienced a disappointing campaign with his national side at Euro 2012, moved to Tottenham from Real Madrid in 2010.
