Tottenham Hotspur 'scout Benfica teenager Jota'

Tottenham Hotspur scout Benfica teenager Jota during the recent international fixture between England's Under-20s and Portugal's Under-20s, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly scouted Benfica teenager Jota during the international fixture between England's Under-20s and Portugal's Under-20s earlier this week.

Jota helped his native Portugal record a 1-0 victory in the Under-20 Elite League fixture on Tuesday night.

According to A Bola, Tottenham had scouts in attendance to watch the 19-year-old, who has featured on three occasions for Benfica's first team during the 2018-19 campaign.

Jota, who is also believed to be interesting Bayern Munich, has a release clause of £25m in his current deal, but Benfica are said to be keen to tie the youngster to a new long-term contract, raising his buy-out price in the process.

The left winger has scored seven times and registered seven assists in 44 appearances for Benfica B.
