Tottenham Hotspur reportedly attempted to sign Eran Zahavi in the latter stages of the January transfer window but ultimately ran out of time to complete a deal.
Spurs were linked with a number of new forwards last month having lost leading scorer Harry Kane until at least April with a hamstring problem.
The London club were thought to be in the running to sign Shanghai Shenhua forward Odion Ighalo on loan before ultimately losing out to Manchester United.
According to The Telegraph journalist Jason Burt, Jose Mourinho's side also attempted to sign Zahavi on loan from Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou R&F, but the clock was against them.
The 32-year-old turned out for Hapoel Tel Aviv, Palermo and Maccabi Tel Aviv before moving to China, where he has scored 99 goals in 110 appearances for his current side in all competitions.
Zahavi has also managed 19 goals in 52 appearances for Israel at international level.
