Tottenham Hotspur to sign Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay?

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Barcelona player Ibrahim Afellay, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Dutch attacker Ibrahim Afellay on loan for the rest of the season, according to a report.

The 27-year-old's spell at Camp Nou has been disrupted by various injury problems, including a thigh complaint that had ruled him out for the last five months.

Now that he is back to full fitness, Spurs manager Tim Sherwood has expressed an interest in the Oranje winger, according to the Metro.

Barca coach Gerardo Martino has said of the player: "Our plan is that he will stay here, but we can't rule out an exit. He might leave."

Arsenal and Liverpool are also reportedly interested in Afellay, who spent last season on loan at Schalke 04.
