Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to bid for Swansea City centre-back Alfie Mawson this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to make a fresh move for Swansea City centre-back Alfie Mawson this summer.

The 24-year-old has been one of the standout performers for the Welsh side this season as they battle for survival in the Premier League and earlier this week earned his first senior call-up to the England squad.

According to The Times, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been impressed with Mawson's performances in recent months and has placed him on his transfer wishlist for this summer.

The newspaper says that the club have been monitoring the defender for more than a year but it could take a bid as high as £40m to convince the Welsh side to sell one of their key assets.

Mawson joined the Swans from Barnsley in 2016 for a fee of £5m and will have two years remaining on his existing deal this summer.
