Tottenham Hotspur have reignited their pursuit of Internacional striker Leandro Damiao, according to the club's president Giovanni Luigi.
The Premier League outfit have been linked with the Brazilian star over the past year due to failed attempts to land the 23-year-old last summer and in this year's January transfer window.
Despite being unable to strike a deal, Luigi has claimed that Damiao is "likely" to play for the North London outfit within the year.
"If a club want a player, they must talk to the president of the club at which that particular player plays, and not just deal with the agent - that is not correct behaviour," Luigi told Tutto Mercato.
"Recently we talked with Tottenham, Leandro is very likely to play games in England in the coming year. On the other hand we can exclude Napoli."
Damiao had previously been linked with former Premier League champions Manchester City.
