Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Sevilla defender Alberto Botia.

Sevilla defender Alberto Botia has emerged as a summer transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old centre-back has recently been linked with Swansea City and Wigan Athletic, but Spurs are thought to be leading the chase to sign him.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen to boost his defensive ranks at White Hart Lane next season amid concerns over Williams Gallas and Steven Caulker, according to the Daily Mail.

Botia spent the early part of his career with Barcelona before leaving for Sporting Gijon in 2012.
