Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly putting the finishing touches on a £15m deal for Bologna centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Recently-appointed manager Nuno Espirito Santo is thought to be prioritising defensive incomings in the current transfer window, as Toby Alderweireld has allegedly informed the club of his desire to leave.
Spurs have since been heavily linked with a move for Tomiyasu, who is already understood to have agreed personal terms with the Lilywhites earlier this month.
Now, The Athletic reports that Tomiyasu is on the verge of joining Tottenham, who will shell out approximately £15m plus add-ons for the Japanese centre-back.
Spurs supposedly want a deal for the defender wrapped up before the Tokyo Olympics gets underway, as Tomiyasu will be representing Japan in his homeland during the games.
The versatile 22-year-old - who has also featured as a right-back and defensive midfielder throughout his career - has scored three goals and assisted another three in 63 appearances for Bologna since 2019.
