Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the brink of signing Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a free transfer.
As a result of Hugo Lloris remaining as number one and penning a new contract, Spurs will not take up the option of keeping Atalanta BC stopper Pierluigi Gollini on a permanent basis.
The decision leaves the North London outfit requiring another backup goalkeeper, their preference said to be a homegrown player to help meet certain criteria.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are closing in on the addition of Forster, who is out of contract at St Mary's at the end of June.
The 34-year-old made 19 appearances in the Premier League this season, the veteran taking his tally for Saints to 162 outings in all competitions.
Spurs are also said to be ready to complete the permanent signings of Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski after earning a return to the Champions League.
