Tottenham Hotspur 'close' to deal for Marseille defender

Spurs reportedly have a bid of £5.2m accepted for Marseille centre-back Nicolas Nkloulou.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly had a bid of £5.2m accepted for Marseille defender Nicolas Nkloulou.

The 25-year-old's contract with the Ligue 1 side expires this summer and, according to Calcio Mercato, L'OM have "done everything to see avoid him leaving for free at the end of the season".

Spurs have now had their bid accepted and Nkoulou has agreed to the switch, which will be announced shortly pending a medical and paperwork.

The Cameroon international has made almost 150 appearances for the South Coast side since joining from AS Monaco in 2011.
